Who we are
Hackonomics 2025 is a US based 501c3 nonprofit organization focused on promoting financial literacy and understanding of economic principles through projects that merge computer science and economics. Our goal is to make a positive impact on our community through hosting hackathons, which will accept code submissions that promote this learning. We have had over 1500 participants from 70+ countries be part of our current and past hackathons. Our latest approach to spreading knowledge on economics and financial literacy is through our high school level based curriculum development.
About the job
In this position, you create a curriculum on financial literacy suitable for children aged 11-15 and thus need a strong knowledge in this subject. You’ll create modules in a PDF format based on a curriculum outline that you’ll be provided. The curriculum will be fact checked by industry experts to ensure credibility and originality, and then be distributed to school districts and on the Hackonomics website.

About our curriculum
The curriculum will be composed on infographics, quizzes, and various other study materials to maximize engagement and retention of information
Here's what we're looking for:
— Completed an AP or IB Macro or Microeconomics course or equivalent with a 90 or higher or alternatively a Financial literacy course with a 90 or higher
— Have a firm understanding of high school economic subject matter
— High school student
— Frequently available to meet and discuss updates
— Writing and Research skills
— 2 hours of out of session time commitment
Schedule
Week 1 - Rules, guide, and begin creating curriculum unit with group
Week 2 - Send curriculum for review, start work on infographics
Week 3 - Make edits on curriculum as per revision
Meetings Saturday 10:30AM-12:30PM EST
