CURRICULUM —
Our curriculum is a free, student-created program designed to teach financial literacy and microeconomics through structured units: Financial Literacy Basics, Budgeting, Banking and Savings, Taxes and Credit, and Investing. Each unit includes video guides, infographics, and tests emphasizing both understanding and real world applications. The curriculum integrates annotated materials and visual aids to support diverse learning styles and foster lifelong financial skills. It has been fact-checked by industry experts and developed/marketed across three internship cycles.

HACKATHONS —
We have hosted three Hackathons, timed competitions that allow for the combination of Computer Science and Economic principles. We have hosted competitions in 2024 and 2025, with ongoing due March 2026. These hackathons are judged by industry experts, and foster collaboration and teamwork amongst participants. Hackonomics is the largest Economics hackathon on Devpost.

2024
Our first-ever Hackathon brought together passionate students from across the country to solve real-world economic challenges through coding and creativity. We gathered over 20 judges and worked on gathering sponsors.

2025
Our team grew much larger and we began designating positions and departments. 2025 was our first hackathon to pass 1000 participants, and we incorporated a custom judging portal. We also gathered internships and created our curriculum that is now a core element of our mission. We expanded even more globally, distributing curriculum and reaching 88 nations with our hackathon. We also made our judging international.

2026
We are hosting our 2026 hackathon, partnering with new sponsors to allow for integrations in our competition. For our 2026 hackathon, we have coded a virtual live event game, so members can share information and view galleries of other projects. Also, we plan to expand our curriculum to incorporate Macroeconomics as a four unit separate course this year to share insight on the broader global economy.
